Sydney Operahouse

Sydney Operahouse on Bennelong Point in Sydney, Australia.
In fron is one of the characteristic harbour boats, that
operates like buses.

The Operahouse is designed by the Danish architect Jørn
Utzon. It was build in the period from 1954 to 1973. It
cost AUD 102,000,000 to build. It has more than one
million tiles on the roof.

Kakadu National Park

Early morning in Kakadu National Park in the Northern Territory
in Australia. The area is part of the Window on the Wetland, that
is home to many birds and wildlife. The bird to the left in the
front is a brolga.



Darwin Palm

This is part of a palm, that we saw in Darwin. The photo shows
the 'stem'. Click on the photo to get the larger version, and

The Three Sisters

The three stone pillars in the Blue Mountains 1 hour west of Sydney
is called the "Three Sisters". The blue mist, that has given name to
the mountains, comes from the eucalyptus threes.

Ayers Rock

It is the world's largest monolith rising 318m, with a circumference
of 8 km. Ayers Rock is located in the Kata Tjuta National Park, which
is owned and run by the local Aboriginals.
